I make images to examine how identities are built, inhabited, and altered—by desire, expectation, and the structures that shape the way we see ourselves and others. I am interested in what happens when an image refuses to confirm a single version of its subject: when it can be seductive and unsettling, intimate and political, vulnerable and defiant at the same time.

The body has been a recurring presence in my work, both as subject and as a space of experience. I approach it not as something fixed, but as a place where roles are performed, imposed, resisted, and rewritten. At times, the body is explicitly staged; at others, it withdraws and persists through gestures, objects, landscapes, or traces. Absence does not remove it from the image—it changes the way it is perceived.

I construct situations that remain close enough to the recognizable to retain their emotional and symbolic weight, while allowing reality to shift. Fiction gives me the freedom to reorganize what already exists and to make visible conditions that are often difficult to name directly. I am not interested in creating closed narratives. I prefer images that withhold part of their meaning, that ask for time, and that allow contradictory readings to coexist.

As my practice has developed, I have become increasingly aware of the image as a physical presence. An image can be touched, transferred, fractured, layered, obscured, or changed by its own making. Material variations, losses, and accidents are not simply effects to be corrected; they record what the work has undergone. They expose the distance between our desire to preserve something and the fact that neither matter, memory, nor identity remains unchanged.

Whether I am working with a staged body, an altered landscape, a moving image, or a photographic object, I return to the same underlying concern: how an image can hold what is unstable without resolving it. I see image-making as a space of rehearsal—a way of testing other forms of presence, imagining possible transformations, and giving physical or visual form to what is still in the process of becoming.
